Some people killed those Siemens PCR2.1 ECUs using Foxflash or other programmers. Here is the guide for dummies/newbies.
1.pull ecu out
2.connect in bench
3.identification, check rightside id menu.
If it says ECU LOCKED BY EEPROM, lets continue.
(If it says ecu unlocked by eeprom,go directly to to number 6, NOW BE SURE IT SAYS UNLOCKED! DOUBLETRIPLE CHECK IT!)
4.read eeprom and save it pcr_patch.bin
5.write eeprom pcr_patch.bin back to eeprom.
(Now eeprom is unlocked)
6.read flash and save it, send to your tuner.
7.write received file to ecu.
8.ecu back in car and drive.
NOTICE!
After eeprom unlock you can read write ecu in obd2 allso, NOT BEFORE! Best bet is to work only in bench, i see allmost daily in portal atleast one every 3 days “who tought obd2”. To be 100% , there is no obd2 for you, none. Allways work in bench and do all the steps again and again, you cant do them wrong many times but one obd2 read&write might ruin couple days of your life minimum.
